Capoeira originated from Brazil in the time of the slaves. It is a fighting technique they created to hide what they were training. Using different kinds of skills like acrobats, kicks, fuild movements, they were able to make a whole new art form. They incorporated musical instruments to make others believe that they were only dancing, but in reality, they were getting strong to fight back.

We use instruments to keep the flow of our game. We play to the sound of the music. The beat and rhythm dictates how fast or slow we play. The lineup consists of the berimbau, atabaque, pandeiro, and the agogo.
